An all-female building project at the Quarry, from inception through to construction and programming.
Project Overview
Building Female Futures is an all-female design and construction project.
The proposed project is to design, coordinate, construct and program an amphitheatre.
The amphitheatre will accommodate up to 200 people and a range of activities. Situated at The Quarry – now operating as an education and research project – it is located in the township of Beech Forest, 200kms SW of Melbourne.
Building Female Futures is an initiative of These Are The Projects We Do Together (The Projects) in conjunction with RMIT University.
Building Female Futures brings together students from four specific disciplines uniquely positioned to deliver this project – Building and Construction, Engineering, Interior Design (Hons) and Landscape Architecture.
In the case of there not being a female available to provide a particular skill or trade, the project will take responsibility for mentoring and training a female participant.

We respectfully acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Eastern Kulin Nation as traditional custodians, on whose unceded lands we work and live.
We respectfully acknowledge elders – past, present and emerging. And we extend our deepest respects to all First Nations peoples. In the context of the work we do, we express gratitude for our shared connection through place, to the oldest continuing cultures on earth.
